MELT
Pretraining at full temperature. Crucible keeps thousands of accelerators at heat for weeks, folding raw text, code, and telemetry into one glowing charge.
GAUGE · 1600°C · MOLTENPyracore is a fictional model-training company. The foundry design follows an imagined model through training, checkpointing and evaluation.
The temperature gauge follows three stages in the design: melt, pour and cool. The interface demonstrates the concept; it does not train a model.
Pretraining at full temperature. Crucible keeps thousands of accelerators at heat for weeks, folding raw text, code, and telemetry into one glowing charge.
GAUGE · 1600°C · MOLTENCheckpoints are castings. Every pour is stamped with its charge sheet — what went in, when, and at what heat — so a model's history reads like a mill record.
GAUGE · 900°C · FORGINGAlignment is a cooling schedule, not an afterthought. Behavior is tempered in staged passes while the weights are still workable, and we stop when the metal stops moving.
GAUGE · 180°C · QUENCHFive imagined products give this model-foundry concept its structure. Each has a specific role in the process.
Holds the melt. Scheduling, checkpointing, and failure hand-off for very long pretraining runs — the furnace keeps temperature even when hardware does not.
orchestrator · self-hostedBase weights cast in three sizes, bench to bridge. A plain-spoken composition sheet ships in the crate: data mix, heat curve, known soft spots.
base weights · open cardRapid alignment passes that lock a model's behavior the way cold oil locks steel grain. Refusals, tone, and format set in one controlled dip.
hardening · staged passesA serving layer hammered flat: one binary, cold starts under a breath, batching that never asks you to think about it. The dull part, done well.
runtime · one binaryEverything the melt rejected, itemized. Failure cases, refusal misses, hallucination clusters — published as a running log, not a press release. The failure log is the product; read it before you buy anything else.
A foundry runs on procedure, not mood. These are ours.
Weights travel with their charge sheet — data sources, heat curve, cooling schedule — from raw charge to shipped alloy. If the record is incomplete, the metal does not leave.
If we cannot print the composition, we do not ship the metal. Model cards are written for the person holding the part, not the person selling it.
Nothing leaves the floor still glowing. Evals run until the needle stops, then run again cold. A model that only performs warm is a casting flaw, not a feature.
PYRACORE is a fictional foundry. The failure entries above are examples written for the design study, not a record of trained models or customer runs.
One call charges the furnace. Five stages report back as they happen — the same states the wall gauge reads.
